MTN Latest Data Bundles with Data Rollover, Data Gifting & Auto-Renewal

MTN the Giant in Telecommunications industry in the country has added data rollover, Data gifting and auto renewal to their data bundle service, if you are a heavy or light user, there is always a data plan to meet your  need, relax while I give a detail explanation to these new features.

1. Data Rollover: This simply means that you have the ability to subscribe to data bundle after a previous one has expired and any unused data from previous subscription will be added to your new subscription, i.e. if I subscribe for a period of one month and at the end of my subscription period, I was unable to exhaust all data bundle allocated to me, this unused data will be added to my data bundle when I subscribe again.
2. MTN Gifting: This simply means buying data bundle for another person or on behalf of another person, i.e. I want to subscribe for a data plan for my friend, loved once etc. instead of buying airtime and sending to them to load on their SIM before they will be able to subscribe, I can simple do everything on my phone and they will only receive the alert of what I have done.

To send Data as a Gift Plan, follow any of the two options below

Option 1 By SMS

a)      Before you can do this, you have to register, and you can register for the Data Gifting service by sending this keyword “REG” to 131; and you will receive a unique authentication PIN

b)      Now text the key word "[GIFT] [MSISDN] [Data Bundle Code] [PIN]” to 131.

E.g.  
Gift080123456789 1060000

NOTE: 

•  MSISDN= is the phone number you want to send Data gifting to

• 106= is the MTN code for 100MB monthly plan

• 0000= is your security PIN

Option 2 Using USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data)

This option is easy, just dial *131# and follow the menu.

3. Auto Renewal: This allows for uninterrupted data plan access, it simply means that when you validity period expires,  your data bundle will be renewed automatically once you have enough airtime on your phone or tablet, but if you exhaust your data bundle before the validity period you will be asked in an SMS advising you to either activate a new plan or continue using the airtime on your phone which will result to what is known as Pay as you go and you will be charged 5k/KB
