How do you know if a modem is customized?
You can know this if you get a prompt message to enter an unlock code whenever you insert a SIM from another service provider into the modem.
Steps to Unlock Huawai Modem
This method has been used to unlock different kinds of Huawei USB modem, so follow the steps bellow if you want to unlock your Hauwai modem, some of the models listed below can be unlocked with the steps below.E156, E155, E1550, E1552, E156G, E160, E160G, E161, E166, E169, E169G, E170, E172, E176, E1762, E180, E182E, E196, E226, E270, E800, E870, E880, EG162, E880, EG162, EG162G, EG602, EG602G, E271, E272, E510, E612, E618, E630, E620, E630, E660, E660a.
1. Plug the Modem into the UBS port of your PC with an Unsupported/unauthorized SIM
2. After some seconds, you will get a prompt mesage asking for unlock code

3. Launch Universal Mastercode and select Huawei Tab.
4. Enter the IMEI number of your modem in the provided space and click calculate
(IMEI is a number [about 15 digits] writen somewhere on the body of your modem)
5. After clicking on calculate, the unlock code for your modem will be displayed,
6. Enter the unlock code in the space provided by the prompt message in step 2 above (i.e. for this modem, the unlock code is 57137375, see the picture above)
5. Your modem is now ready to accept SIM from another service provider
4. Enter the IMEI number of your modem in the provided space and click calculate

Write commentsThanks for your useful information. Now a days lot of methods available to unlock huawei modem but i have chosen unlock code method. Then i got unlock code from this site Wickedunlock.com and unlocked my huawei ascend modem from Australia with vodafone network provider easily.
