How to Cancel (Deactivate) Airtel BIS Plan, and Subscribe Again

I received a comment from one of my readers, he said he subscribe for Airtel Blackberry complete month but he exhausted the 1GB data cap before one month, so he wanted to subscribe for another, but was told he has an active subscription, so this post will show you how to opt-out and subscribe again.

If you subscribed for Airtel BIS and you finish the allocated data bundle before the expiry date, and you want to subscribe for another BIS, you will receive a message informing you that:
"you are already on Airtel bis and that your have an active plan".
This means that you can't subscribe for another BIS, since the one you subscribed is still active.

So what do I do?

You have to opt-out or unsubscribe from the active plane, before you can be able to subscribe for a new plan.

How do I opt-out?

1. Remove you Airtel SIM from your modem and put it into any phone (be it China phone or Nokia phone, any phone at all)

2. Go to SMS or text message menu of you phone and compose a new message, with the word "DEACTVATE" .

3. After composing the message, send it to "440" and you will receive a confirmation message telling you that you have successfully opt-out.
How to Subscribe again for Blackberry Complete

1. Load your Airtel SIM with N1,400 worth of airtime

2. Go to SMS or text message menu of you phone and compose a message, with the word "BCM"

3. After composing the message, send it to "440" and you will receive a confirmation message telling you that you have successfully subscribed.

How to Subscribe again To Blackberry Social

1. Load your Airtel SIM with N1,200 worth of airtime

2. Go to SMS or text message menu of you phone and compose a message, with the word "BSM"

3. After composing the message, send it to "440" and you will receive a confirmation message telling you that you have successfully subscribed.

Note : The Airtel subscription will last for one complete month, and you will also be given 1GB of data, and if you finish this 1GB before one month, just come back to this page and go through the same process to subscribe again for another 1GB.

Alternately, you can get 3GB for N2,800 which lasts for 3 months, from Airtel, but the only disadvantage about this is that is not renewable, like that of 1GB, meaning, when you exhaust the 3GB you will not be allowed to get another one unless you have to subscribe using another Airtel SIM.

As at the time of this post, once you subscribe one time, you can't subscribe again with that same SIM, until another promo.
