GLO BIS Browsing on PC and Laptop is Back on Some Few GLO lines

I made a post earlier on this to explain in details, on how to use your BlackBerry as a Modem and also how you can use your GLO BIS to browse with your PC, this service was disrupted for some time by GLO, but now am happy to inform you that it is back but works on few selected GLO lines (SIM).

What do I mean?

You can now browse on your computer, be it Laptop, Desktop and even on your Ipad using your GLO BIS subscription, so if you subscribe to GLO BIS before and also subscribe separately on your Modem, you can stop doing that now because just the GLO BIS will take care of both.

How do I do this?

You must have an active GLO COMONTH BIS subscription and to subscribe for it (GLO BIS), do the following:

1. Put your GLO SIM into any phone (be it China phone, Nokia phone or Blackberry phone, you must not have a Blackberry phone to use this service to browse)
2. Go to the text message menu of your phone  and compose a new message with the word “COMONTH”, send it to “777” and you will be given 3GB of data

Note: you must have up to N1, 500airtime in the GLO SIM you want to use, for this message to go successfully.

How to Configure your Modem Software

1.       Remove Your GLO SIM and put in inside a Modem (you can also use your BlackBerry as a Modem if you wish)

2.       Plug your Modem into the USB port of your Computer

3.       When the Modem software comes up, click on "Tools" then "Options" 

         and select "Profile Management". (this will depend on the type of Modem you are using)

4.       When under Profile Management, click on "New" and insert the settings below:

Profile Name:            Glo BIS

APN:                           blackberry.net

Access Number:       *99#

Username                   Leave it Empty

Password:                   Leave it Empty

5.       After creating the profile, click "Save" or “Ok” whichever one that is applicable to your Modem software, to save the settings. 

6.       Now go back to the Connection interface, select "Glo BIS", from the drop down box, and click on "connect".

you are now ready to enjoy 3GB Bundle for Just N1,500, which is far more better than the 1GB offered by Airtel. 

So kindly find out if it will work for your GLO line so that you will continue to enjoy it
