How to Switch Between 3G and 2G on Android Double SIM Smartphones

Sometimes when you insert certain network inside your double SIM Android smartphone, you will notice that EDGE will be displayed on one of the SIM; this simply means that it is on 2G, this is because 3G is enabled only on one SIM at a time especially on Tecno smartphones, so in other to enable 3G on any SIM you wish to use, you have to set it up manually, while 3G is enabled on one SIM 2G will automatically be enabled on the other SIM, use this idea to set either 2G or 3G on any SIM.

Steps to Set Up 3G on any SIM

1. From you Android smartphone, go to Settings

2. Under Wireless & Networks

3. Click on Mobile networks

4. Click on 3G services

5. Click on Enable 3G

6. Choose any SIM you want to Set as 3G

A warning message will pop up like this “Are you sure you want to set 3G services on this SIM? This will also set the default SIM for video call to this SIM automatically

7. Click Continue

And the switching process will begin which will take about 10 seconds or more depending on the state of your Android phone.

NOTE: If you have set 3G for instance on SIM 1, SIM 2 will now have 2G 

The network you switched to will send you a message, informing you about your SIM status i.e. how many MB you have let.

Remember that leaving your phone on 3G will run the battery faster, so remember to switch of data when is not in use.
