Paypal Is Coming to Nigeria on 17 June and other 9 African Countries

PayPal, an online payment platform which allows you to make online transactions and is widely used by millions of websites is entering 10 new countries this week, including Nigeria, according to Reuters.

According to Rupert Keeley, the executive in charge of the EMEA region of PayPal, as from Tuesday 17th of June, users from Nigeria and other countries from sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America will able to use the online payment platform. That means that PayPal will now be used in 203 countries.

Now, it’s back and will be available to us. Maybe it was due to this petition. Who knows, but this is a good development.
According to Keeley, there has been some refreshments to the PayPal service and this surely is a refreshment.

“PayPal has been going through a period of reinvention, refreshing many of its services to make them easier to use on mobile (phones), allowing us to expand into fast-developing markets“, says Keeley.

PayPal which was originally available in Nigeria, had to cancel its service as fraudulent activities on the payment platform were increasing.

How this affects other payment platforms like Interswitch is yet to be known. What do you think? Good news or is PayPal a bit late to the party?
