You are welcome to lesson 5, In this lesson you will learn how to use the Save and Save As commands, you will also get to know the difference between them, how to save as an Excel 97-2003 compatible workbook, and how to save as a PDF (Potable Document Format).
This lesson is special because you will learn the trick most people have been using to make PDF materials, Are you saving a workbook for the first time?
Saving it as another name?
Sharing it with someone that does not have Excel 2010?
There are many ways you share and receive workbooks, which will affect how you need to save the file.
Difference Between "Save" and "Save As" Command
A). Save is used when you want to save a workbook for the first time, it can be used also to update a workbook when you have made some changes to it.
While
B). Save As allows you to:
1. Choose a name and location for your workbook before you save.
2. Can also be use it if you are saving a workbook for the first time.
3. If you want to save a different version of a workbook while keeping the original.
4. If you want to save your workbook into other format like PDF.
5. If you want to make a duplicate of a workbook.
From the above, you can see that Save As is indeed a useful command.
