I was applying for a Visa Card recently, and I got to a point where I needed to input the Postal / Zip Code of my location, initially, I quickly imputed 23401, before I thought for a while and realize I was making a mistake.
So how did I finally get the correct code of my location?
I quickly went to Google to find out and I was surprised that it was very easy to get, because even the postal code of my street, my village and the locations where NIPOST
have their facilities were all available, this simply means that the site is categorized into 3 as listed below.
1. Urban Postcode Search: Allows individual to search for postal code of any city in Urban areas throughout the Country.
2. Rural Postcode Search: Will help anyone search for postal code in any village/ rural area within the Country.
3. Postal Facilities Postcode Search: This will search for the Nigerian Postal Service facilities available Nationwide
Therefore, to find any location within the Country, just select where the location falls (i.e. if is a village postal code you want to find, select option 2, but if a city postal code select option 1) from the options above, and follow the steps below to get your postal code
How to find the Postal Code of your Location/Street
1. Visit NIGERIAN POSTAL SERVICE website
2. When the page opens, fill in the correct information depending on your location, i.e. the information in the picture below shows that this individual resides in Lagos State, somewhere along Oshodi Apapa Express Road, so follow that order to locate the postal code of your area / Street.
3. After supplying the correct information, click on GET POSTCODE button to display your Postal code
4. Look under Streets that Use the Postcode => to view the list/names of streets sharing the same Postcode
